Good Morning All...  I was wondering how would I make my wild ducklings eat after they hatch out. I have heard they are bit hesitant to eat.

The best option would be to hatch a few call duck eggs along with wild duck eggs.

When we keep wild duck eggs for hatching, we also keep 2-3 call duck eggs in the same batch. These eggs hatch out nearly at the same time. When they hatch out, call ducklings will eat fast. Seeing this, the other wild ducklings will learn to eat soon. This has worked fine for me.

Absolutely.... I raise some call ducks to be good moms and friends for the other wild ducks I raise. Call ducks are generally sweet and friendly, they are easy to raise birds.

But I have heard call ducks have a high-pitched call which carries over a long distance. Would that be a nuisance? Are they tidy birds?

Call ducks can be very noisy, but the drakes aren't nearly as loud. And they are really tidy birds. The only thing is we need to change their water regularly to keep them healthy.
