I have 3 Pekin Ducklings, approx. 2 weeks old. I was wondering how to tell the sex of my pekin ducklings.  Or should I wait even longer to determine the sex of these ducklings?

you can vent sex them.  take the duckling gently in your hand so you hand is covering his back.  Turn him over feet side up..use your other hand and put you finger on either side of his vent and gently pull it apart..what your looking for is a little male sex organ..you have to look closely.if you don't see one then it's a female.  Other than that..listen to the quack once they start quacking..males are more of a mumble..a much softer quack..the females are loud ..males sort of whisper.  once they feather..after a bit the males will develope a drake feather on the back..and the females wont.

Hey shicks,

I started doing exactly like what you said with one of my pekins. But then it did squirt poo. So I just felt I am hurting these cute ducklings..... Am I hurting these ducklings when I vent sex them? As for differentiating them based on quacking, how old these ducklings must be? And also, when would my pekins start feathering?

you aren't hurting them..they just don't like it very much.  To tell by the quack they need to be actually quacking and that won't be till they're around 8 weeks or so..you'll start noticing the peep occasionally will sound funny and then soon after they're quacking.  They start feathering around 3 weeks..you'll notice the tail feathers coming in..they look like longer pieces of straw sticking out..and then their chest and tummy will have feathers but the rest will be fuzzy..they'll have feathers by about 6 or 8 weeks..then around 10 to 12 weeks they'll moult and get their adult feathers.  Don't worry about vent sexing though..they'll peep and wiggle, and poop..lol  it's just not something they enjoy, or want done..but you aren't hurting or tramatizing them..they'll forgive you in 2 seconds when you give them food afterward it'll all be forgotten..lol

I would better wait another 1 or 2 weeks and check the tail feathers to know if my pekin darlings are a girl or a boy..... I'm really enjoying these ducklings..... They're super cute...

 

By the way, can you tell me what I do with my only one mallard duckling? How do I know if duckling is a SHE or HE? How can I distinguish mallard duckling based on feathers or quacking? Is it same as pekin ducklings?

well, you could vent sex like the pekin when they're babies..or you can wait a few weeks and tell by the quack..and then of course when they get the adult feathers the drakes will have the green head..but that doesn't happen with the first set of feathers, it takes them a few months to start getting the green.  and of course the drake feather..which came from the mallards in the first place.
