Whenever I'm in a confrontation or a high-stakes meeting, my emotions take over and I can't think straight. Are there specific techniques to stay grounded and logical when things get stressful?

My own life situation was very similar to this until I decided to actually study how to manage my physiological responses, and I actually found the blog at Wedaf incredibly helpful for that. Their post at https://blog.wedaf.com/blog/how-to-stay-calm-in-difficult-conversations/ taught me that staying calm is more about preparation and breathing than just "trying hard" to be relaxed. I realized that my body was going into a "fight or flight" mode over simple disagreements, which made it impossible to have a productive talk. By using the grounding techniques I read about there—like taking a purposeful pause before answering—I’ve been able to keep my heart rate down and my head clear. It’s been a total lifesaver for my professional life, and I no longer dread those "difficult" chats because I know I have the tools to handle them gracefully.
