Guys, I'm having an issue. None of the CS 1.6 builds that I've tried will run on Windows 11. I don't want to install Steam because I don't want to use up space on my laptop. Does anyone know how to play CS without getting an "OpenGL not supported" error?

I should mention that I've already tried setting it to XP compatibility mode and updating the drivers. Either the image is stretched out or the game crashes during startup. Ideally, I'm looking for a version that is fully configured for modern hardware and high monitor resolutions "out of the box." It's crucial that the server search works and that there are no miners inside because antivirus software usually flags pirated builds. Is there a reliable source where the client is adapted for Windows 11?

My Windows also wouldn't let ve run most of the builds. New systems often block older software launching due to security issues. But, I found one good version. Last week, a friend of mine who’s into retro games invited me to play with him and sent me a link to csgetme . Surprisingly, everything worked on the first try, we didnt even need any patches. Also their build is optimized for modern monitors, so the FPS is stable, and the image doesn't stutter. By the way, do you think CS 1.6 can be considered a retro game? My friend and I are still arguing about it. I dont think CS is retro yet.
